Issues arising from the AGAR and internal audit will reviewed at the next meeting of the Full Council and the Finance, Governance and Personnel Committee.
In March 2016 the Parish Council asked residents of Stretham to complete a survey in order to gain feedback on ideas to how to improve the facilities and resources available at the Parish Rooms and to make the Parish Rooms a more attractive venue for the Community.
It was clear from the responses to the survey that the Parish Rooms are not fit for purpose as many barriers to use were identified. Therefore it has been identified that a new community building is the way forward in providing a beneficial useful resource for our developing community, which could be used by many existing and new community groups and providing a focal point within the village for events of all kinds.
At this point, the Council needs to know if there is support for the building of a new community facility for the village as it’s a huge commitment – most of which will be voluntary, to get the project of the ground and to raise the funds needed. .
This survey is intended to give the Council useful feedback from the community on potential uses of the new Community building and what the benefits of having a community space will be to the village. The feedback will be important to the Council in forming a view about the design and potential uses of a community facility and will help inform the next stage of the decision-making process.
Please complete the survey by March 23rd 2018. Paper copies of the completed form can be left at the Post Office or posted through the letter box at the Parish Rooms.
